Jane's birth story
Jane. She's number three for us, and my biggest baby weighing in at 8lbs 6oz.
I was induced at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. Dr. Seale and my amazing nurse helped this delivery be my easiest! I arrived at 5:30AM and she was born just after noon. I only pushed three times for the whole delivery. With all three of our baby's births it has always just been Ryan and I in the delivery room... and all the medical professionals. haha. It's such a special feeling bringing our children into the world, and it's emotional, as it should be. After delivery when all the nurses and doctors leave and it's just us and our new baby... those are some of the most special moments of my whole life.
After we moved to our new room Ciara came to capture Jane's new-ness. This is the first time I've had a professional photographer come to the hospital. I am SO glad she came! Although Ciara is one of our best friends, she is legit the best photographer I know! I love having these memories in photos to remember the love we felt for Jane that day.
My mom came with our other two kiddos and Ciara captured all the magic of Eva and Crew meeting their new sister.
My mom said Jane looked just like me. In fact, she said it was like looking at me, 29 years ago. (que tears)
And Ryan is, and always has been, the best dad and husband. He helped me feel more calm and eased my anxiety during labor. When I was in labor the nurse checked me and I was dilated to about a 6 and then I felt a TON of pressure and a gush of water... mind you, I had an epidural and my water was already broken, so I was a little panicked by what I felt. The nurse told me just minutes before that she estimated a couple more hours until pushing- but when I told her about what I was feeling she checked me again after only about 5 minutes and I was complete. She rushed out and called my doctor and people started coming in prepping for delivery. I started to freak out a little because of all the hurrying- plus the pressure kept getting stronger and Ryan was there by my side holding my hand assuring me that I was going to do great. He gave me a big hug as tears streamed down my face and Dr. Seale walked in. I wasn't scared really, I think I just knew how much our lives were about to change bringing another beautiful baby into the world. I'm so lucky to have a husband who I can lean on and feel comfort from and who loves being a Dad.
Jane is two and a half months old now and just as sweet as ever. She is so calm and aware. She is giving big smiles with little dimples on each cheek, and coo-ing, almost laughing! She sleeps so well, like 6-8 straight hours a night for the last 3 weeks. She is the BEST! The new-born stage is hard for me and maybe hard for a lot of moms, but she is making it so much easier! We love Jane so much.
